Lazy Gecko Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Lazy Gecko Cafe is like entering a quietly spirited corner of Glastonbury, where time slows just enough to savor the moment. The space welcomes you with an inviting calm, a cozy mix of eclectic artwork and comfortable seating that somehow feels both intimate and open. Whether you choose a seat indoors surrounded by vibrant pieces available to take home or settle outside in the sunny garden nook, the pace here encourages lingering conversation and the pleasure of simple, well-made food.
This isn’t a rushed café experience, but rather a relaxed neighborhood spot where the friendly staff seem genuinely glad to see familiar faces and to welcome new ones. Here, attentive care is evident—not just in the service but in the thoughtful way various dietary preferences are embraced, making everyone feel included.
The rhythm of your visit might begin with the steam rising from a perfectly frothed cappuccino or a golden turmeric hot chocolate—warmth in a cup that sets a reflective mood. The kitchen’s offerings feel like a reliably good friend: generous breakfasts that fill you naturally, seafood dishes whose freshness echoes the nearby coast, and vegetarian options where flavors feel curated but unpretentious.
The ambiance carries a quiet creativity too, mirrored in the art that adorns the walls and the gentle hum of the conversations around you. It’s a place where you might find yourself stretching time just a little, encouraged by the welcoming atmosphere and the subtle blend of comfort and character. Ideal for a slow weekend brunch or a peaceful pause in the middle of a busy day, Lazy Gecko Cafe offers a taste of Glastonbury’s slower side—unhurried, genuine, and welcoming.

Superb French Onion Soup (on the specials) the Mezze was fresh and tasty. Great staff. Quick service. Nice place to relax. Plenty of wall art available for purchase. Prices good.

A quirky café (licensed) with interesting original artwork on the walls (much of which is for sale at very reasonable prices) and friendly, helpful staff. The food was delicious and, if you don't mind the wait for freshly cooked fare, well worth the cost. Awareness and catering for coeliac diners was very good. Dog friendly. Definitely recommended.

Visited the Lazy Gecko for some lunch. Had full English and apple crumble with custard for afters. Meal was good quality and plenty for the price, the apple crumble and custard was best I have tasted in a long time. Plenty of seating area with good atmosphere and availability to sit out front or in garden if you wanted too. Highly recommended place to visit.

We went here last year when we came to the Glastonbury Carnival. Unfortunately a bit late this year, but the host very kindly lent us chairs to sit on during the carnival. What a great guy! We'll be back soon when we're next over from East Sussex.

We had lovely breakfast on the way to stroll around, go visit Chalice Well and Avalon Tor. Very friendly owner and Staff same as friendly customers. I must admit-I love Glastonbury. We will pop in for Gecko special when we will be around. Greetings
